I am Syed Fakheem Ahmed. After completing my Master’s degree in Petroleum Technology in 2007, I embarked on a career in aviation by joining the Civil Aviation Authority in 2010. My initial role as an Assistant Air Traffic Control Officer was just the beginning. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in various capacities, gaining extensive experience across all units in Karachi Tower, Area Control Centre and Approach. Currently, I am an integral part of the ATS Branch, Operations Directorate at the HQ-CAA.

In addition to my professional responsibilities, I recently took on a pivotal role within our community, being elected as the Joint Secretary of the Guild. This position was entrusted to me by my peers, a testament to their faith in my dedication and leadership skills. In this role, I am committed to advancing our collective goals and ensuring the well-being of our community.

Also privileged to serve as Aerodrome Tower Controller at the most tech-advanced Control Tower of Pakistan: AIIAP Lahore, since 2023.

I am a graduate in telecommunications engineering and a past Erasmus Mundus Exchange Scholar.

I joined Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) as an Air Traffic Controller in 2016. Since then I have served as an Aerodrome Controller at Jinnah International Karachi and at ATS Branch of Operations Directorate Headquarters CAA as part of Aerodrome Management Team. Now I am working at Aeronautical Information Management Branch at HQCAA as Aeronautical Information Service Provider (AISP).

I have been elected as Finance Secretary South in a newly elected Executive Team of PATCG in January 2024. I have previously held the position of Executive Member from HQCAA. Responsibility of representing the community of professionals like Air Traffic Controllers has never been an easy job. I look forward to work for the betterment of my fellow Air Traffic Controllers.

I have served as Executive Member (Quetta) from 2022-24.  I completed my Masters in Chemistry from Quaid-e-Azam University and joined Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority in 2013. I have worked as an Aerodrome Controller at Jinnah Int’l Airport and then as Procedure Approach and Aerodrome Controller at Quetta Int’l airport. I also held Instructor rating at Quetta. I am currently serving as Procedure Approach and Aerodrome Controller at Multan Int’l Airport.

Educated as a Computer Systems Engineer from UET Peshawar, I’ve served in critical roles at various airports, including Aerodrome Controller, Pre-Flight Information Officer, Search and Rescue Officer, Duty Terminal Manager, and Scheduling Officer, notably at Allama Iqbal International Airport and now Bacha Khan International Airport. Additionally, I’m an Executive Member of the Pakistan Air Traffic Controllers Guild, dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient airspace management.

Whether it is coordinating takeoffs and landings, managing ground traffic or responding to emergencies, I take pride in my ability to handle all these high pressure situations with dedication and calm professionalism. I joined PCAA in 2019 and, after undergoing Basic ATC Course no. 42, joined AIIAP Lahore as AD ATS. Following duties in the Pre-Flight and Rescue Coordination Centre, I have been serving in the Aerodrome Control Tower. I am looking forward to serve in the best interest of the ATC community as Executive Secretary North.
